Recently, I got so much calls from people who needed to attest some documents. They had issue with the officials at the Ministry of Education in Abuja because of incomplete papers. I decided to notify you of some changes in their mode of operation so that you don't travel all the way to Abuja without achieving your objective.
In my first article written on HOW TO ATTESTATE YOUR DOCUMENTS IN NIGERIA, I explained all you will need to get your (Results/Marriage Certificates/Trade Test) done. I can't go back to it now but if you have not read it, you can check it out HERE.
NOTE: If the document you want to attest does not include result; let's say it's just your marriage certificate, then you don't have any business with Ministry of Education, you will just go directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If result is included in the document you want to attest, then you will first pass through Ministry of Education before going to the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. To attest your documents in Nigeria now, if it has to do with result, then you must ensure that you have your results from O'level to the highest certificate you intend to attest with you. Get me right, if you want to attest your HND or Bsc for instance, you must have your O'level with you and your ND result because they will check it in an ascending order. The most difficult area in result attestation is Ministry of Education.
The new system they are bringing in now is that if you want to attest your Degree result and you do not have the certificate from the school yet, they will ask you to provide your transcript before they can go ahead. This does not happen always but if your school is the type that doesn't care about how their letter-head looks (Some schools will just type out the name of the school in a bold character at the top of a paper and issue notification of result with it. This always makes it look as if it is fake) you can have a little problem going through Ministry of Education.
In a nutshell, it is always good if you come with your certificate and if you do not have it yet, come with your transcript together with your notification of result. I have explained how you can get it done in the previous article but if you want it done for you, it can be arranged. All you need is send it across to me from wherever you are, even if it is outside Nigeria.

Firstly, I need to know the number of certificates you want to attest as it is done per document. Secondly, I need to know, if you are using it in the UAE so as to add the price for UAE stamps to the cost. Lastly, I need to know whether you reside within Abuja or outside Abuja so as to know how the documents get to me. Dear Friend, Do you have the original certificate or Notification/Statement of Result?

Please I would like to confirm from you if other religious marriage certificate issued by Islamic societies like Nasfat, Ansarul deen, Muslim student society etc is accepted or auntheticated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Or is only the one from government registry only like Ikoyi Registry is only acceptable by MFA.

Dear Ayoola, UAE embassy is the last stage in the process of attesting documents for use in the UAE. The documents must have passed through the ministry of education and foreign affairs before being brought to the UAE embassy. UAE embassy do not open for any form of attestation or otherwise on Fridays. Any document submitted from Wednesday of a week stays till the following week before being collected.
UAE embassy doesn't really work regularly during Ramadan period, so your documents may stay longer before collection during this period.

Dear Ayobola, if you already have the original certificates, you don't need any transcript again.
The certificates will pas through the ministry of education, ministry of foreign affairs and UAE Embassy andbthose are the 3 stages you need to pass through in Nigeria.
When you get to the UAE, the same documents will go through the UAE MOFA(Ministry Of Foreign Affairs, UAE)

I just had my attestation done and it was excellently carried out. I did not need to meet Mr. Mike face to face. All I did was courier my certificate from Dubai to Abuja and he had it all done and couriered it back to me.

Embassies do not decide which certificate is qualified or what, they will attest a document once the document has passed through the right ministries for authentication. The reason why your certificate was returned to Fed.Min. of education for a letter was because someone tried to attest a fake result at the UAE embassy yesterday and he was caught in the process. Immediately after that,, the embassy issued a notice that all documents coming for attestation should be returned for double checking and a note from either ministry of education or foreign affairs to further clarify that such document had passed through their office would be ok.

Yes, you have to pay same amount you paid per document for eligibility letter at the UAE embassy.

@ Ola: Yes, you can attest it without any problem provided you don't need an eligibility letter. If you need an eligibility letter for your O'level and you don't have up to 5 Credits with English and Maths inclusive, then i am afraid you might not be able to get through.
UAE embassy in particular needs an eligibility letter to stamp your educational documents, if you have this kind of problem, it might not go through as education ministry won't release the eligibility letter.

@ Wali: There is a way of evaluating your qualification to determine where it falls when compared with the US standard. However, attestation of your documents is inevitable because that is the only way to confirm the authenticity of the documents you are presenting.
In addition, if you are a Nigerian and your are attesting for schooling or employment in the US, you need to pass through 3 different stages.

The first stage of the power of Attorney attestation is Notary Public and then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja before proceeding to the Saudi Arabian Embassy to complete the process since Oman embassy isn't present in Nigeria currently. I came across Mr Mike's write up on how to attestate certificate. I chat him up on WhatsApp. My family member's asked me how I got to know Mr Mike and once I told them that it was through his write up. They all said it's a scam, that how do I trace him if anything happens.
