HOW TO GET AKWA IBOM STATE OF ORIGIN CERTIFICATE IN LAGOS
Until lately, I have never thought of writing about this but after a client called me to get this thing done for her daughter who was in serious need of Akwa Ibom state of origin certificate in school for her registration, I had to put this together for the benefit of others who may equally have a need for obtaining state of origin certificate at the Akwa Ibom State Liaison office in Lagos.
Before I break the process of obtaining Akwa Ibom state of origin certificate in Lagos down, I will have to specifically emphasize that this article only works for residents of Lagos who are from Akwa Ibom and in need of this. As for Akwa Ibom indigent residing in other states, all you need to do is check if there is any Akwa Ibom state liaison office in the state.
The Akwa Ibom State Government Liaison office in Lagos is an office that handles everything that has to do with the indigents of Akwa Ibom who are resident in Lagos or who are in need of any official declaration which attach them to Akwa Ibom.
Mostly, students who are in school need it to finish up their registration process. It is meant to officially state where they come from. It can also be required by different government and non governmental agencies during registration of any sort. For example, before anyone can obtain an international passport in Nigeria, he or she has to provide a copy of certificate of origin alongside other documents before the process can be completed.
So, if you are from Akwa Ibom state, living in Lagos or needs to get something done in Lagos and you need to obtain a certificate of origin for any purpose, just follow the process listed below to get it done.
Go to Akwa Ibom State Government Liaison office which is located at 14, Ajose Adeogun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
How To Get To Akwa Ibom State Government Liaison Office In Lagos
From anywhere in Lagos, get a bus to Obalende and from there; join a keke Napep going to Eko Hotel. Once you alight at the last bus stop, just take a two minutes walk to the front after the round-about or ask anyone for the Akwa Ibom State Government Liaison Office. It is just by the road side and about 2 blocks from a Zenith bank. To make the whole thing very simple, just ask anyone once you alight from the Keke at the last bus stop so you don’t start walking in the opposite direction.
Things Needed for getting Akwa Ibom State Of Origin Certificate in Lagos.
Before you ever leave for the Akwa Ibom State Government Liaison office in Victoria Island at all, ensure you get the necessary documents along with you so you don’t have to go for your state of origin certificate twice.
Things Needed are:
Result (This can be your O’level/ND/HND/Bsc/Cambridge) just ensure you go with any copy of your result.
Birth Certificate – this is also very important as you won’t be allowed to get it without providing a copy of your birth certificate. Both are to be photocopied because they will keep it in a file that would be opened for you.
Two recent passport photographs
In addition, you should ensure you know your Town/Village name because it would be filled in a form which would be given to you and if you fill it wrongly, it would be difficult to trace it on their list of towns/villages in the state.
Once all these are provided, you would be asked to make an appropriate payment into the Akwa Ibom State Revenue Services at the Zenith bank about 2-3 blocks away from their office.
When you are done, you will take the payment teller back to Akwa Ibom State Government Liaison office and they will finish up the process from there. It is something you can start and finish in a day. Once you are through with the submission, you would be asked to wait at their reception and you would be called upon the moment they finish up with it.
