  • How To Get Saudi Arabia Employment Visa

If it is your plan to live and work in the Saudi Arabia, then you have to give this article a big shot. This is particularly written for Nigerians who want to live and work in Saudi Arabia. This article on how to get Saudi Arabia employment visa from Nigeria will really help you without wasting time.

From my last article on How to Get A Saudi Arabia Student Visa From Nigeria, you will get some vital information which is general to all types of visa application at the Saudi Arabia embassy in Nigeria.

To start with, you must know that Saudi Arabia has two embassies in Nigeria. One embassy in Kano and another one in Abuja (FCT).

So How Do I Get Saudi Arabia Employment Visa?

Getting an employment Visa to work in Saudi Arabia is a process that must start from Saudi Arabia itself. The starting point has to be from Saudi Arabia because it is either a citizen of Saudi Arabia sponsors your application or an employer/ indigenous company sponsor your work visa. In the same vein, a foreign company or entity that is appropriately registered and licensed to carry out business in Saudi Arabia has what it takes to sponsor your work visa to Saudi Arabia.

That being said, I will like to quickly give you the steps to be taken by the company in processing the Saudi Arabia work visa.
The company will first register with the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior so an immigration file can be opened for the company. This file will contain all the details of the expatriates.

The employer may likely show the Ministry of Interior that there are no indigent or Saudi Arabia citizens to fill the post. The company will initiate a work application with the Ministry of Labour which can take up to 3 months or less.

Once the employment visa application is approved, the Ministry of Labour notifies the Foreign Affairs Ministry who will then issue a Visa Authorization code/number. This can take up to two weeks or less.

At this point, the Saudi Arabia Employment or Work Visa would be issued by the concerned Saudi Arabian Embassy based on the instruction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After this is done, it is now the time of the employee to submit an application and other necessary documents which I will mention later on in this article.

Although, the Work Visa at the Saudi Arabia embassy varies but generally, it shouldn’t be more than 3 weeks.
Once an employee arrives Saudi Arabia, an “Iqama” (residency permit) must be filled with the Labour Ministry. This Iqama is what an employee carries around to show the legality of living and working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

After the Iqama, the company then files application with Ministry of Interior or Foreign Affairs for Exit/Re-entry Permit. This will allow the employee travel in and out of the country

So, What Are The Requirements For Getting A Work Visa At Saudi Arabia Embassy?

Below are the things you should make available for your work visa application to Saudi Arabia to be successful.

    • Valid International Passport which must be valid for your employment contract duration.
    • The employment contract letter
    • Medical Fitness Certificate (Saudi Arabia Embassy in Abuja has an accredited hospital for this)
    • Application form which MUST be completed in BLOCK LETTERS and black pen.
    • Letter of No Objection/ No Objection Certificate (NOC). It is a letter from your previous employer stating that they have no objection against your decision to work in Saudi Arabia.
    • Attested educational documents which will also be stamped by the Saudi Arabia Embassy. Follow this link on How To Attest Your Certificate in Nigeria.
    • Coloured passport with a white background.

    • Support Letter from the company/employer. This letter must be signed by both Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chamber of Commerce of Saudi Arabia.

Hint: If you have been to Israel before the application, I will advise that you get another passport before your application because you are likely to be rejected.

In conclusion, be notified that Saudi Arabia Embassy only use accredited agents who are directly registered with them for Visa processing and every other services attached to it. Ensure you have all your documents for application and then you can contact us for the rest. You may go to the embassy for inquiries or explanation on things you don't understand but be rest assured that they will not allow you to run your application yourself because that is the way they have programmed.

For those applying for Saudi Arabia Work Visa from Abuja embassy, the accredited hospital they use for Medical Fitness Test is Dr Hasan's Hospital .
If you are applying from Kano, you can use any Hospital for your Medical Fitness Test but you will have to attest the result at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja to be acceptable.

Note: Don't ever submit a fake Medical Fitness Report because another test would be carried out on your arrival in Saudi Arabia and if you fail the test, you would be on the next plane back home.
