  • I have had to answer this question so many times and after saying the same thing over and over again, I decided to put it here for my readers to read and get the step by step approach to getting into the program and also to shed more light on it for the benefits of those that are already in the program but not getting the rewards they had earlier envisaged.

    1. Specific keywords related to my ads that people type into Google, then display them to the right and top of the search results.
    2. Websites that display adsense ads.

    So, what is Google Adsense?

It is a cost-per-click (CPC) advertising program that allows publishers/blogger or anyone who wants to put ads on his website(s) to copy and paste a small amount of HTML into the site(s) and the ads will appear in the targeted area with relevance to the content of the site. The interesting thing to know about adsense is that, it’s about the easiest way to start making money online for the webmasters or bloggers from their sites.

After the approval of your adsense by Google, the adsense spider will crawl your site in order to see what your site pages are all about. If the crawler notices that your pages are about how to make money online or how to satisfy your wife in bed (whichever niche you are blogging about), it then checks the inventory of ads related to the articles you have put up on your site and place such next to each of your articles.

This idea works out perfectly for everyone as someone reading an article on work from home or overcoming poor libido is more likely to buy online marketing tools like auto-responder and stamina enhancer respectively than someone who is reading an article about weight-loss. Should you need more on this, check the article by Google here: What is Google Adsense?

How does Adsense Work (for bloggers)?

AdSense is a nice way to monetize traffic, and it’s also very easy to implement. As a matter of fact, it’s a top earner for some sites out there. Google.com generates most of its income by allowing other website owners/ bloggers or publishers to advertise on their search results pages. This is managed through a program called Adwords, it’s a pay per click marketing.

The next question you might want to ask is how does this Adsense work for you as a site owner or blogger? It all starts with people who want to advertise. The advertisers choose which keywords they are willing to advertise on and bid on such keywords. For instance, if I want to advertise my new line of weight-loss products that I just produced, I would pick certain keywords like “lose weight, weight loss pills, how to burn fat, obesity, etc” (more on keywords in the subsequent articles).

After doing this, Adsense spiders would then match the ads I have set up with:

When the adsense robot crawls your site and find out that you have content/articles that contain the same keywords that I (the advertiser) bided for, then my ads will display on your site next to your article on weight-loss. Now, bear it in mind that the person who has come to your site came for a purpose which is to find a help on losing excess weight, it is very possible he/she clicks on the ads displayed in your article.

Why? Because the ads may be displaying a powerful new products that will burn out all excess body fat within 2 weeks or special belly fat blaster that will return the belly to its flat state within a week and so on. This ads makes a lot of meaning to the people looking for solution on weight loss and when they click the ads, it takes them to a sales page created by the seller to sell the products and whether the traffic sent from your site eventually make purchase or not, you have already made your money from the amount the advertiser have paid to Google on each click through.

If you have any problem understanding some of the terms, feel free to send your comment and ask whatever question you have on your mind. I will be more than ready to give a helping hand.
