How To Attest Your Documents At Qatar Embassy In Nigeria

Attestation means, legalization or authentication of document(s) which may either be educational or non-educational documents. Document or certificate attestation is usually required when you are in pursuance of employment or studies in another country. It is purposely requested to ascertain the authenticity of the documents/certificates you have claimed to your credit. 

Securing a skilled job in Qatar as a non-citizen, (I don't know if it applies to other nationalities apart from Nigerians though) you will have to provide attested educational certificates. To get this done, your documents need to go through 3 stages listed below:

• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja
• Qatar Embassy, Abuja.

First and foremost, you need to obtain a letter of "TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN"  from the institution you attended here in Nigeria. If possible, let the letter be directly addressed to the Qatar embassy. 

The letter should state your name in full, matriculation number, course/department and the year of graduation. The letter should solicit for necessary assistance from the embassy to you. 

For you to complete attestation for Qatar, you will present your educational documents from ordinary level to the highest level to the Ministry of education for their seal and signature on the certificates. Your highest certificate may be your HND, BSc or MSc whichever applies to you. In addition to this, your transcript from the higher institution where you graduated must also be attested alongside your certificates, the transcript should be the original, signed and stamped by your school. If you present other documents at the Qatar embassy for attestation without your transcript, they will reject it.

Once you finish attesting the document at the ministry of education, the next stage is ministry of foreign affairs. Present the attested copies from the ministry of education together with the letter obtained from your institution for their seal and signature on the documents before you finally proceed to the Qatar embassy for the concluding part of the attestation.

Note: the letter from your school is very important as far as the Qatar attestation is concerned because Qatar embassy will not even accept those certificates from you unless they see the letter first.
