Police report or police character certificate is a document clearing an individual of any form of criminal records which may include arrest, conviction and criminal proceeding whatsoever.

Police Clearance is usually requested from outside the country for employment or citizenship application purposes. The police checks the applicant's finger prints and name to see if it's in Criminal Investigation Department's record or not. Once the applicant's record is searched and NOT found, then the police character certificate would be issued to such applicant.
