Which Document Should A Teacher Attest To Work In UAE?

Certificates attestation is not a new thing to those who seek a highly placed and paid employment opportunities in the UAE, mostly Dubai; Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. If you are a teacher or planning to take up a teaching job when you arrive in the UAE, then I will like to guide you as to what you need to provide for your certificate attestation before you leave Nigeria. Generally, certificate attestation follows the same process but documents to be provided by a teacher or someone who intends to go for teaching will include the following:

• O’Level Certificate (WAEC/NECO)
• University Degree/Higher National Diploma/College Degree
• Reference Letter OR Letter of Experience (From your past employer)
• Montessori Certificate (If you have)
• Police Clearance OR Police Character Certificate

The reason why a teacher needs to present all her documents for attestation is because schools in the UAE always want to ensure that whoever fits in to be employed as a teacher should have all the necessary documents officially required to teach. As for the Police character certificate, some schools or employers might not request for it but most schools do. 

If pupils/students are to be committed to your care and teaching, then you should not be a person of questionable character, hence the police clearance is needed.

For some other profession, you can just attest your degree or HND certificate at the UAE embassy and you are good to go but for a teacher or whoever plans to work in that field, you have to attest both O’level and degree certificates together with an experience or reference letter from your past employer.
