For a Limited Liability Company, all necessary corporate documents used in registration of the company by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) must go through attestation at the necessary ministries and the United Arab Emirates embassy in Nigeria.

In addition to the corporate documents, the directors, as indicated in the company registration documents must also provide their valid international passports (scanned copy of the datapage) for attestation alongside the corporate documents.

The corporate documents to be attested for use in the UAE include the following:

• Certificate of Incorporation
• Memorandum of Association

It is pertinent to note that attesting corporate documents for the purpose of operating in the UAE or any other foreign countries will not be treated as regular documents. Invariably, the cost will not be the same as other regular documents like, educational documents, marriage or birth certificates. 

As at the time of writing this article, corporate document for a company can go between N250,000 – N300,000 which includes legalization from MOFA, Notary and the UAE embassy.
