are imported or exported. Controlled items or products are being prevented from
re-export or transfer to another country by the guidelines provided in the

Document attestation is
commonly requested by most companies in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) before
appointment is being given to an employee to work with them as a skilled labour.
The reason why it is very important for any Nigerian who wishes to work and
live in the UAE to have his or her documents attested is not far fetched from
the fact that employers pay more or rather, they pay a better salary package to
an employee who has a certificate to back his or her profession than another
employee who is seen as being unskilled. I may go on and give you reasons why you need to attest your documents or educational certificates before travelling to the UAE but I will like to limit this article to the documents you can attest to work in the UAE.

How To Legalize A Benin Republic Issued Certificate In Nigeria
I am writing this article purposely to provide the needed information to any Nigerian who schooled in the Benin Republic.
It is no more news that many Nigerians now enjoy taking advantage
of a smooth educational system in the Republic of Benin which happens to be a neighboring
country to Nigeria.
Apart from a smooth running educational calendar enjoyed in the
Benin Republic which is devoid of strikes unlike public tertiary institutions
in Nigeria and killing tuition fees in the private ones in Nigeria, the country
also have one of the best power supply in Africa.
The country seems to be building and developing every single day
which is endearing students from other countries, most especially Nigeria to
pursue their academic dreams in the French speaking country.

Why You Need To Attest Your Documents Before Travelling To The UAE
The issue of document attestation may be new to so many Nigerians living/working abroad but certainly not Nigerians professionals in the UAE. Securing a skilled labour job in the UAE requires proper attestation of your educational certificates especially if you are to work in Abu-Dhabi. Searching or finding job does not require attestation of documents but the moment you become a successful applicant, proper attestation of your results becomes a necessity. Attestation is a legal authentication to prove that your certificates or documents your are presenting are genuinely obtained by you.
As a Nigerian seeking to live and work in the UAE, ensure you follow the due process in attesting your certificates before leaving for the UAE. Before now, it was possible for you to attest all your documents through the Nigerian embassy in the UAE but currently, all documents coming from Nigeria are expected to be authenticated by the necessary ministries and the UAE embassy in Nigeria before coming into the UAE. If you go to the UAE without attesting your documents, you will have to send them back to Nigeria for attestation.
It is very true that a lot of people are working in Dubai, Abu-Dhabi and some other places in the UAE without any certificate attestation but that is because most of them are not employed as skilled employees. Of course, you can't compare the salary package of a skilled labour to an unskilled labour. Even if you are just an O'level certificate holder, my advice is that you get your certificate attested before leaving home in other to fetch yourself a better deal in terms of employment.
Documents you can attest are but not limited to the following:
- Ordinary level/SSCE: WAEC/NECO/GCE
- Degree Certificate/ Bsc Certificate
- National Diploma (ND)
- Higher National Diploma (HND)
- MSc
- Transcripts
- Reference Letter
- Marriage Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- Court Affidavit
- Police Character Certificate
- Professional License
The process of attesting your certificates for use in the UAE starts and ends in Abuja. Attestation means, legalization or authentication of document(s) which may either be educational or non-educational documents. New Face Of UAE Embassy Stamp
UAE embassy in Nigeria recently changed its stamp from the old ink-print to a sticker-like which is more neater and beautiful than the old one. I had to write about this change because a lot of people thought the new UAE stamp is fake and this brought a lot of fear to prospects who needed to attest different documents for use in the United Arab Emirates.
If you have done certificate or document attestation at the UAE embassy (Abuja, Nigeria) before and you are now seeing another stamp, don't be afraid, it's a new face of the UAE embassy stamp and I will post both the old and new below for you to see.

Samples Of Attested Documents At The Ministry Of Education, Foreign Affairs And UAE Embassy, Nigeria.
Many people are just hearing the word attestation while some who have heard it do not really know how exactly it is done or what it is used for. If you want to know what attestation means, take a minute to read a detailed article written on it here.
I am putting up few of the past attestation completed for clients within and outside the country recently as a way to keep those who might be in need of it informed. Many people suffered from wrong people who presented themselves as agents but eventually did fake attestation for them. Many of these fake jobs were returned only after the clients had reached United Arab Emirates where they wanted to make use of these attested certificates...so painful right?

How To get Eligibility Letter For Admission In Malaysia (Update)
This is an update on this very topic because I have earlier written a detailed article on how to get an eligibility letter in Nigeria and this goes for those who are seeking admission in Malaysian schools because they ask for eligibility letter as one of the prerequisites for visa processing. The step by step on how to get an eligibility letter in Nigeria is here.
Before now, all you need to process eligibility letter from the ministry of education in Abuja is your O'level result (WAEC/GCE/ NECO), provided you are seeking admission for a degree program and Degree certificate if you are seeking admission for a Masters program.
However, the change in the procedure which is the reason why I am writing this is the inclusion of secondary school testimonial (This is usually given by your secondary school at the completion of your secondary education).

In my first article written on HOW TO ATTESTATE YOUR DOCUMENTS IN NIGERIA, I explained all you will need to get your (Results/Marriage Certificates/Trade Test) done. I can't go back to it now but if you have not read it, you can check it out HERE.
NOTE: If the document you want to attest does not include result; let's say it's just your marriage certificate, then you don't have any business with Ministry of Education, you will just go directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If result is included in the document you want to attest, then you will first pass through Ministry of Education before going to the Ministry of Foreign
